The exhibition at the Hessisches Landesmuseum Darmstadt presents four of Walter Schels' best-known photo series: the animal portraits, the portrait series on Joseph Beuys and Andy Warhol, the Trans* series and Schels' flower studies, which explore the beauty of fading. The exhibition provides a representative insight into Walter Schels' extensive oeuvre and is the largest exhibition of his work after the exhibition in the Hamburg Deichtorhallen in 2019.
